Following the successful conclusion of the G20 meeting in Kashmir, Srinagar is all set to host a prestigious international conference on Robotic Surgeries. The event, organized by the Government Medical College (GMC) in Srinagar, in collaboration with the Post Graduate Department of General and Minimal Access Surgery and the Kashmir Urological Society (KUS), will span three days from June 1 to 3.

Dr. Mufti Mahmood, Professor and Head of the Department of Surgery at GMC Srinagar, revealed that the conference is expected to attract over 300 delegates, including participants from the United Kingdom and the United States, making it a globally significant gathering of medical professionals.

The conference will feature live operative workshops covering a wide range of Urology and General Surgery cases on June 1-2. Additionally, June 3 will host various activities including guest lectures, panel discussions, paper and poster presentations, and a Post-Graduation quiz to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration among attendees.

Dr. Mahmood emphasized the significance of the event, highlighting the presence of top-notch surgical cases and expert faculty. A live robotic operative workshop will be broadcasted to the auditorium, allowing the guests to observe and learn from the cutting-edge techniques being demonstrated.

The primary objective of the conference is to showcase the exceptional quality of urological and surgical work conducted in the Department of Surgery at GMC Srinagar. The event aims to provide a platform for professionals, researchers, and students to share ideas, enhance their surgical skills, and expand their professional networks. Renowned speakers and surgeons have been invited to share their expertise, enriching the experience for all participants.

Of particular significance is the relay of Advanced Robotic Surgery from Kochi, which will be featured for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. Dr. Mahmood highlighted the immense value this brings to the postgraduates and young surgeons, who will have the opportunity to witness and learn from the innovative surgical techniques presented by experts.

Dr. Iqbal Salim, Professor of Surgery at GMC Srinagar, expressed optimism about the impact of this conference. He stated that it would prove to be a boon for young surgeons and postgraduates, offering them a chance to observe cutting-edge techniques and engage in fruitful discussions on challenging clinical matters.
