Srinagar: As the government handed over the control of premises of Kashmir Press Club (KPC) premises including building and land back to the estates department, the journalists, who have paid amount for the registration as fees, here have expressed resentment against the move, asking that who is going to repay their fees after such a decision.
Talking to the local news Agency KNO, a number of journalists termed the decision as unfortunate, saying that it was the only place where they would sit to discuss their stories and do other needful work for performing their duties.
“As the press club has been handed over to the estates department again by the government, we need to answer who is going to repay their fees they have submitted since the time the platform was provided to the journalists,” they said.
They appealed to the government to look into the matter and come up with any favorable decision so that the journalists are not forced to face hardships or else make it clear who is going to repay their fees.
