Srinagar A civilian who was shot at by suspected militants at Merjanpora Eidgah Safakadal in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district this evening has succumbed to injuries at SMHS hospital here, officials said.
They told that one Rouf Ahmad Khan, 45, was fatally shot by militants this evening, following which he was rushed to SMHS Hospital Srinagar, adding soon after admission, the person however succumbed to his injuries.
The Kashmir Zone Police in the meantime tweeted “#Terrorists fired upon a #civilian namely Rouf Ahmad at Merjanpora, Eidgah PS Safakadal #Srinagar. The injured was shifted to SMHS hospital where he was declared dead. #Case registered, investigation going on (sic.)”.
Meanwhile the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the assailants. (GNS)
