Srinagar Budgam police Wednesday claimed to have recovered a minor girl belonging to the central Kashmir’s district from Rajouri in Jammu division saying it also arrested the accused alleged for his involvement in the act.
A police spokesperson in a statement to GNS said that on October 31, 2021, Police station Khansahib received a written complaint from a parent stating therein that his minor daughter was kidnapped by a person from their native locality in Dreygam Khansahib.
Accordingly, a case FIR number 237/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigation initiated, the statement reads.
A special team headed by SHO Khansahib Inspector Robinder Singh was constituted to trace the kidnapped minor girl and working on various leads, the special team raided various places for recovery of the girl however after strenuous efforts, the police team recovered the kidnapped girl from Rajouri (Jammu division) and also arrested the accused kidnapper.
He (kidnapper) has been shifted to Police Station Khansahib where he remains in custody, the statement reads.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to child welfare committee, it reads adding further investigation into the matter is in progress. (GNS)
