Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday had a telephonic conversation with US President Joe Biden and committed to a rules-based international order, with a focus on regional issues, climate change, and strategic partnership, among other issues.
Modi took to Twitter and said, “Spoke to @POTUS @JoeBiden and conveyed my best wishes for his success. We discussed regional issues and our shared priorities. We also agreed to further our co-operation against climate change.”
In another tweet, Modi said, “President @JoeBiden and I are committed to a rules-based international order. We look forward to consolidating our strategic partnership to further peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.”
Modi has called Biden twice since he was announced as the President-elect in November last year.
The two had met in Washington on September 30, 2014, when Biden was vice president to Barack Obama.
